Ficus Tineke (Variegated Rubber Plant)
Ficus Tineke (Variegated Rubber Plant)

There is a quiet, artful quality to the Ficus Tineke that makes it a perennial favorite in our studio. Its thick, waxy leaves look as though they’ve been carefully detailed by a painter’s brush, blending soft washes of sage and olive with wide, creamy ivory margins. When a new leaf unfurls, it often brings a delicate, temporary blush of pink—a small, daily reminder of the beauty found in slow growth.

Whether it’s anchoring a sun-drenched corner or sitting atop a minimalist mantle, the Tineke offers a structural elegance that feels both modern and timeless.

Easy Going Plant...

We love this variety because it is as resilient as it is beautiful. It’s a plant that bridges the gap for those who want high-impact foliage without a high-maintenance schedule.

  • Light: She is at her best in bright, indirect light. Think of a room that feels glowy and warm; too much harsh, direct sun can singe those "painted" edges, while too little will cause the vibrant colors to revert to plain green.

  • Water: This Ficus prefers a "less is more" approach. We recommend letting the soil dry out about halfway down the pot before giving it a thorough drink.

  • The Finishing Touch: Since those broad leaves can act like little dust magnets, give them a gentle wipe with a damp cloth every now and then. It keeps the plant breathing and ensures the variegation stays bright and glossy.

Thoughtfully Cultured

At Sylvie Rose, we are drawn to botanical pieces that tell a story. The Tineke is a staple for us because it isn't just a houseplant—it’s a piece of living decor that evolves with you. It’s the perfect gift for a new home or a soulful addition to your own sanctuary.
